Put in the Windows start-up disk
and turn on your computer

it will give you and screen that
will ask you hw you want to boot your computer

you'll select option 2 "with
cd-rom support"

type in the number of the option
and then it will boot your computer

it will give you information
about where your cd-rom is located (it will tell you the drive
letter this is something you have to remember for future use)

after your computer is booted it
will have an "A:\"
-
now you'll type in "format
(space) c:"

it will ask you if your sure so
press "Y"

it may take a few minuets to
format the hard drive

after it has completed formatting
it will ask you to insert a name for your drive so if you want a
name type it now after your done press "enter" and if you don't
want to put one in press "enter" and it will default to "local
drive"
