- Partitions: you need this to specify the size
of the usable space on your hard drive you can set up a portioning
using the windows start-up disk or you windows cd. I don't
recommend using a western digital start disk because of future
problems with windows
- Fdisk: is a program that is on the windows
start-up disk that is made to make a partition and delete a
partition on the hard drive
- Format: creates the information to prepare your
hard drive to be written to and it also is an ease way to erase
things quickly
- FAT 32: this is the format that is used for
large drives that are running windows 95, 98 and ME
- NTFS: (new technologies filing system) this is
the filing system used for windows NT 4, 2000 and XP it's more
secure for network and multiple user computers
- ISP: your ISP (Internet Service Provider) is
the company or person that is your gateway to the inter net
- SMTP: this is an e-mail account setting that
is the outgoing server for you email
- POP3: is the e-mail account setting that is
the storage space for you e-mail
